Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto in 1995 and with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1995 from the University of Saskatchewan. She worked as a staff Occupational Therapist in acute care at The Toronto Hospital for one year. 

Michelle has been employed with the FIT for Active Living program since 1996; a week before the program opened as a three year pilot project. She completed ErgoScience training in Functional Capacity Evaluations.  She worked as a Staff Occupational Therapist for 3 months and then as a Senior Occupational Therapist for 18 years.  She was involved with extensive program planning for the FIT for Active Living Program including Tertiary treatment and assessments, Work Site Evaluations, Home Evaluations, WCB Treatment and Assessment later to become the Kinetik Program, Residual Capacity Evaluations, and Enhanced Resource Program later to become the Chronic Pain Program.  She covered an 8 month temporary leave as Assistant manager and began working as Senior Rehabilitation Coordinator from 2014 to present.
